Sorry to tell you this but putting your finger in it has killed that flower, now you will have to wait for another one to grow. A lady at our local nursery warned me of that once.

It could be several days before it opens. Don’t try to force it open. It has to digest the cricket leg. Keep it slightly damp and give it light.

Venus fly traps are one of the coolest plants out there, and also one of the easiest to grow, but yet is one of the ones people kill most often for not taking care of them right.
You are right in assuming they need humidity, but you should not keep moving the plant, from one point to the next. They like to be left pretty much in one spot. Most of the time they come enclosed inside of a little plastic terrarium. And once watered inside of this you should not have to water it for quite a long time, as the water just keeps circulating from the soil or moss to the air where it condensates on the top and drips back down again. I would not water it again until you no longer see and condensation on the plastic itself. If not enclosed make sure the soil or moss stays slightly damp, and an misting with a spray bottle of water a couple of times a day should suffice for the humidity. If you have a very dry room, you can set the pot in a shallow container filled with some pebbles. the add water to the bottom of the container, but not deep enough to reach the bottom of the pot. This will keep the surrounding area humid enough for the plant.
Keep it in brightly lit area, but not in direct sunlight.
I have seen them reopen on great occasion, but usually once they close that is it for that particular flower. NEVER feed it anything but a real fly or other type of insect. Red meat could possibly kill the plant. It will start to rot and that will continue into the plant tissue itself.
Good luck and enjoy your plant!

Congratulations on your new Venus Fly Trap! They are really cool plants and I hope that you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine. Let me try to answer your questions:
1) If the trap closed without anything in it, it will open within 1 to 2 days. If there was something in it that the plant could digest and the leaf was properly stimulated to start the digestion process, then it will open in 7-10 days after it finishes digesting the meal.
2) Venus Fly Traps will do better with humidity, but they are very tolerant of low humidity. I live in Colorado and during the summer the humidity routinely stays below 30% outside (a normal house is in the 40%-50% range). Your Fly Trap will be fine without taking it to shower with you.
3) During the growing season (March through October), you should keep the soil very damp. The tray method is your best option. Set the little pot in a tray with a half-inch or so of distilled water and let it soak it up as it needs it. Be sure to use distilled water though as tap water will eventually kill the plant due to the impurities in it. Fly traps are sensitive in this way.
4) The other things to know are: Give it lots of sun. At least 4 hours of direct sunlight and as much as you can get it. Put it outside in direct sunlight all day long if you can. Be sure to gradually take it outside a few hours at a time to get it adjusted to the bright sun. I am assuming that you got it at a store where it wasn’t in direct sunlight, so putting it in the sun now will burn the leaves off.
Only feed the plant insects, and only a couple of bugs per month. It doesn’t need more than that. It gets most of its food from photosynthesis. But if you grow the plant outside, it will catch all the food it needs on its own.
Something else you might want to think about doing is repotting your plant since it has probably been watered with tap water and those impurities stay in the soil and will make the plant sick. Use peat moss and mix it with perlite or clean sand.
