i read somewhere that if u wont feed ur VFT it will grow more traps..
but here, i can see that after u feed it, 3 more traps grew..
so my Q is : if you feed the VFT more often.. it will grow more traps ?

@PebbleBinder it will catch it’s own, and can go without catching any for quite a while, so don’t worry, but feeding a woodlouse to it once a week won’t hurt.. Thats what I’ve always done, they love them yummy

I’m pretty sure that is a sun-dew. A sun-dew is another type of carnivorous plant. I think there is a symbiotic relationship between your VFT and sun-dew. Sun-dew gives off an odor that attracts insects, so your VFT is benefiting. You’re lucky that a sun-dew is growing there.

looks like one of those sticky plants. maybe got mixed in with the venus flytrap. has the drops of sticky stuff that insects stick to then the plant absorbs it on the outside.

@Donciulis they turn red on the inside of the trap if they recieve alot of sunlight. Try keeping it outside in a very well lit area or under some t-5 fluorescent bulbs. 12-14 hours is a good amount of light

i have 2 plants (actually one as i believe theyre connected by the roots) but they have 20+ traps, i keep them all closed at once so it can get its maximum amount of nutrients. If you do that you can get a new trap to form fully from sprouting to opening its trap in about a week! also that plant you saw in there with your venus flytrap was a sundew plant, another carnivorous plant. These mature in about a year and are very beautiful. Grats on a free plant!
