i think there is one calles revolution or resolution… look it up it is supposed to be better than the other two… i havent tried it yet, but the doc said it works…
Revolution out does both of the brands you mentioned any day.. we tried the ones you mentioned a long time ago and than found revolution and never used anyting else.. works right away and still works when you forget to give the next dose on time
Why do you want an alternative? Because of cost? If so, is the life of your cat not worth the extra few dollars?
There’s LOTS of flea treatments on the market that you can buy off store shelves but most are pretty much ineffective and many are VERY dangerous for your cats – full of toxic pesticides.
So the answer would be Revolution – which also kills ear mites and prevents heartworm – but that’s about it. But it’s a bit more expensive than Frontline or Advantage and also can’t be purchased without a veterinary prescription. I’ve also heard of a pill called “Capstar” but have not used it on my pets.
To save some money on Advantage or Fronline pick them up at http://www.800petmeds.com I bought my treatments there last year for my dog, cats and ferrets and saved a fortune over what I would have paid had I went to Petco, PetSmart or through my vet.
Revolution is what I use. It’s prescription only and kills fleas, ticks, ear mites and heart worms. It costs about $15.00 a dose if you apply it yourself and lasts 30 days – longer if you keep pet beds and such clean and dusted w/ flea powder and your cat isn’t re-exposed.

Those are the best options…
Biospot is crap. It doesn’t work and I’ve seen it cause nasty reactions.
Collars are really stinky and toxic and they just keep the fleas off of the neck.
Shampoos are harsh and dangerous, ESPECIALLY for cats. They can go into shock! Also, it doesn’t prevent the fleas from hopping right back on.
Either use frontline or advantage or cryo-freeze him until there are new breakthroughs ::giggle giggle ::
