My puppy bites herself!?
I know it’s not because of boredom, we play with her A LOT.
She bit herself so severely last night that it was bleeding. She also licks the inside of her legs so much that they are raw, too.
I tried everything to get her to stop – bitter apple, elizabethan collar – nothing works!
I know she doesn’t have fleas – she is on Frontline Plus and has a flea collar ( no critizism about the collar, I know they don’t work well).
Why does she bite herself and how can I stop it?!
She’s also white with pink skin. She’s a terrier, too, just in case you need more info.
She is going to the vet on Tuesday, so I can ask them then.
She’s currently on Eagle Pack Regular – could she benefit from being switched to Eagle Pack Hollistic?

Have you consulted your vet about this? She may have a skin condition or she could be suffering from an allergy, in which case, she won’t stop until it’s treated and she’s comfortable. Terriers are known for skin sensitivities, so a trip to the vet is likely in order.

Puppies and new dogs will bite themselves because of stress. They need to learn that this isn’t the appropriate thing to do. Try socializing her more. This will help calm her and stop her from biting herself. Dogs that aren’t socialized are very nervous dogs.

Take her to the vet. It sounds like she may be allergic to something in your house or yard. Many white coated dogs have skin allergies.

It is normal for pups to bite themselves a bit, but to the point that she is injuring herself, no that is bad, you must take her to a vet, this could be the cause of an underlying issue.

You should take her to the Vet because it sounds like something is wrong with her leg. Licking things is a dogs way of trying to heal it and she might have some kind of skin condition.
