give her a flea bath. Go to the store get flea shampoo. Start at the neck and work your way down to the butt, let the shampoo sit for like 10 minutes. Then rinse it off. Then do it again in a week or two. You should also get those flea foggers for the house to kill any fleas or flea eggs that may be in your house.

Ok,
What you have to do is go to a Pet Store, and get flea control. Here is some information: (for the bites)
While you can’t control the fleas instantly, you can adopt several preventative measures to avoid bites in the mean time. They are extremely annoying – they cause itchy, raised bumps that can be extremely aggravating. You can try a number of ways to minimize the discomfort:
First, wear socks everywhere around the house. Fleas generally live on the floor, and they can only jump about two feet. While you’re waiting for your flea control to work, you can make sure that they don’t bite you on the legs or ankles, which are the most common places to get bites.
Second, wash your bedding in hot water several times. Anything you sleep on is fair game for fleas, and especially if you have a dog or cat who likes to jump on the bed with you. Bites at nighttime can be particularly annoying – you wake up with itches all over, and there’s little you can do about it once you’re asleep.
Third, if it makes you feel better, apply lotions to your bites. It won’t heal them, but it might ease the itching. Realistically, you’re just going to have to wait for a few weeks for the flea control to work and the flea life cycle to pass. To get rid of the fleas in the first place, try Frontline or Advantage on your pets, or look around the guide for a number of other ways to eliminate flea problems.
Here is some info. for your cat:
Fleas are often more easily avoidable in cats than with other animals – mainly because an easy method is simply to make sure that your cat is an indoor cat. Generally, you shouldn’t ever let cats outside anyway – they don’t need to go out, and they will live much longer if kept indoors. The average life span for an indoor cat is 14 years, as opposed to three years for a cat that goes outside. Cars, diseases, accidents, and other animals are all good reasons to keep your cat inside even aside from the cat flea problem.
Cats actually do have fleas specific to them (Ctenocephalides felis), and these small, black fleas like to target cats specifically. You can usually tell if your cat has fleas easily – if you run a comb through its hair, and you get little pieces of small, black dirt, then it probably has cat fleas. This dirt is actually flea excrement, and you will need to adopt a flea control program.
Most of the other suggested methods work for cats as well – vacuum and use flea control products on any area where your cat sleeps or hangs out, because there will be flea eggs and adult fleas there. Steam clean the carpets, which will kill most of the eggs. If you must let your cat outdoors, you might get a professional to clean the yard, or you can apply products to the area that you think will be within the cat’s territory.
You also need to make sure that your flea control product is approved for cats. Don’t EVER just go grab a dog flea control method and use it on a cat – they’re different animals, and it can cause serious health problems sometimes if you do. Run anything with chemicals by your vet – usually all it takes is a quick phone call, and you can get recommended cat flea control products to get rid of cat fleas. There are a couple of big brands to look at – Frontline, Advantage, Revolution, and Program.
I hope this helps! ?

Flea collars are worthless. Wash your cat. Maybe you can take some out with you’re nails too.

You have a flea infestation–that is why a collar and powders won’t work. The fleas are in your house. It takes about ten days for flea eggs to hatch, then mature, then they lay more eggs that hatch. The fleas don’t care who’s blood they suck–as long as it is warm blooded–which means that they will feed on humans also.
#1 Take your cat to the vet and get a once a month flea treatment prescribed and get it dipped. You rub the flea medicine into their fur at the base of the neck. It kills any flea that bites them.
#2 You need to bomb your house, wait ten days and bomb your whole house again. Your vet will tell you what is best.
If you don’t get proper care for your cat, it can lose so much blood to the fleas that it will become anemic. It won’t have enough blood left for the heart to pump and will die.
If you love your kitty, please take it to a vet right away.
Good luck to you both.

A flea collar is a waste of money. All it does is keep fleas off a cat’s neck. Use Front Line (now in Feeder Supply Stores instead of a vet’s office) or use Revolution, that you can buy from a vet. They are the two best.

June is the worst month of the year for fleas. If your local vet has a product called “Revolution”, use it. It is expensive, but it controls fleas, ear mites, heartworms, and roundworms. http://www.revolution4cats.com/display.asp?country=US&lang=EN&drug=RV&species=FL&sec=100
I cannot get Revolution anymore (local vets say it is too expensive), so I use Advantage http://advantage.petparents.com/ on my 9 cats and 1 dog. It is very important you rid your cat of fleas, as they cause health problems both in her and you. I have never found another product, whether it is a shampoo, spray, or powder, that works as well as these 2 products.
