If God made all creatures, with the thought of equality (with the exception that man needed to eat)….?

then why do christians, muslims, jews, (etc, all who believe in God) give little thought to killing or harming god’s creatures that are lower on the food chain? This includes anything as large as an elephant to anything as small as a fruit fly. Aren’t they all god’s creatures in your eyes? Then why do we kill mosquitos, ants, etc without a second thought with this thought in mind just cause they’re easier to kill than lions.
Actually Angry Marvin, as far as I can remember God covered Adam and Eve with fig leaves not animal skins.

If you read Genesis in the bible you will read that God did not make all creatures equal. He made man in Gods own image to rule over all other animals.
And, there is a difference between killing and murder.
This is more to explain and reference that I can in the post. I would suggest reading Genesis and maybe the first 5 books at least. That might give you a better idea of this stuff.

Life is life? Are you equal to a carrot? God did not create all life sacred. God himself killed animals to supply skins for covering for Adam and Eve. Are you questioning God as to why those animals were less important than the need for clothing for those He created in his own image? If He answers you to explain, let us know. Human life is sacred and is protected by commandment, but not animals and plants. They are for our moral use.

You make a good point. But do you feel the life of a fruit fly is of equal value to the life of a mammal? Most folks feel that they have to draw a line somewhere. Some are total vegetarians, some eat a little meat, others will eat about anything. The Jain religion (India) forbids killing all creatures. They wear masks to prevent inhaling small flies and eat only fruit which has fallen to the ground. Each of us makes that decision for ourselves.

First, God did not make all creatures with the thought of equality, God put Adam in charge of the animals and gave him the responsibility over them.
Genesis 1:24-30
24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so.
25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.
30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. Death came about as a result of Adam’s sin – God put Adam in charge, so everything adam was in charge of suffered the effects of Adam’s sin – just like we do today.
Second, God did not sanction the eating of meat until after the flood – Before the flood men were all vegetarians, (and so were all the animals).
Genesis 9:1-4
1 So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.
2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air, on all that move on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand.
3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs.
4 But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
But that’s not the end of the story, you see, God is going to make a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells – there God will restore things to the way it was before.
Isaiah 11:6
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
Isaiah 65:25
The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent’s meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

In Islam, we believe, humans are far superior than any other creation of God. We also believe all the creations are there to serve human kind. And it is totally permissible to kill other creatures if & only if they cause you severe trouble. For example, some sort of mosquitos carry life-menacing germs, whose bites can kill you. Some types of ants & pests cause million dollar loss to crops.
There are a lot of this kind of hazardous creatures around us. In such cases, we do not care about love for the creatures, we must destroy those which harm us.
Slaughtering animals to eat is perfectly ok. Because God gave humans wisdom, using that, the world people is killing millions of animals for food, but still no one of them are facing any threat of extinction.
Yes, we kill mosquitos & ants because we find them in our surrounding troubling us. But we do not live with lions, right? Humans can do far harder thing than killing a lion. They capture lions from Africa, & fly them to your country to put them in the zoo to show you.
I do agree that illegitimate killing of creatures & destroying trees is indeed a punishable crime, and a reprehensive sin.

Adam and Eve covered themselves with fig leaves Genesis 3:7,it was God who made them coats of skins to cover them Genesis 3:21. God gave us animals to eat, there are animals that God said not to eat. You can find that in Leviticus 11, the animals that can and can not be eaten.

I think someone might have refered to this (above), but in the bible, it does say in Genesis 1, verse 26:
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
God (Allah) gave him DOMINION over all other creatures. That is why if a bug bugs us, it’s swatted; if land is to be developed for a building, then those trees in the way are getting chopped down; if people are meat-eaters, then the poultry and beef industries will always prosper.
But with power comes responsibility. So the second book of Genesis goes on to say that Adam was suppose to be the caregiver of the garden (Genesis 2:15).
With the destruction of natural resources seen abundantly these days, don’t seems like the descendants of Adam are doing a very good job.
