Maybe a Little they have never been really effective any time I ever used them. Your best bet is a topical flea medicine. Like revolution or frontline.
I disapprove of flea collars. I’ve heard of animals getting chemical burns, or other skin reactions from them. All the chemicals are directly on the neck, and they do not protect the rest of the body from fleas. It only repels them from the neck (which fleas do not tend to group up, anyways).
It’s a waste of money, in my personal opinion. I would just get some Frontline or Advantage and apply once a month.
Flea collars can kill your pet if he/she is sensitive. I know a person who’s cat died from a Hartz flea collar. So I wouldn’t risk it. Use K9 Advantix or Frontline.

Honestly, the only thing I’ve ever found to be effective is Advantage or Frontline

No, and they are dangerous for dogs AND humans to touch.

Try to use Frontline instead… it will be better than fleas collar.
