Mixture and application for Ant nest Poison….?

ants
I live in Columbus Ohio and have a black ant colony right on the side of my house. I have researched and am going to use the Boric Acid or boiling water approach. Since I know where the colony/nest is should I first pour gallons of the boiling water then bait with the (1C Water / 2C Sugar / 2Tbs Boric Acid) mixture? Or should I just pour the Boric Acid mixture on the nest? Also, can I just use Borax since I already have it in my home? If so is it the same quantity as noted above?

Wow……….Why go through all that trouble? Just sprinkle a little 5% Seven dust on the pile and they will be dead within 48 hours.

The boiled water would be good. If any of the ants survive, then use the boric acid.

boric acid can act as a long term herbicide if you place it outside, killing and keeping vegetation from that area
