Black ants! Why won’t they leave my alone? How can i get rid of them?

These things invade my apartment every spring/summer. They are the black ones, kinda big, but not huge. They don’t seem to like sweets or crumbs like the brown ants, so the poison traps don’t work. When I call the landlord, they tell me they have to put down poison for the entire building (not just my apartment) and supposedly they schedule them , but I never see any difference. There are like 12 of these black ants crawling on me and my stuff at any given minute. I can’t even bring a girl over

Damn..move out? So there not attracted to sweets?

Try to figure out what they’re after, They wouldn’t be there unless you’re giving them something, like food or water. Check for open bags of food, especially in the back on cabinets.
Seeing as you’re in an apartment, does your neighbor have the same problem? Could he/she be the source? Check into it.
